Overall Rating

The Brooks Glycerin GTS 21 combines the plush comfort of the Glycerin with GuideRails stability technology. As a mild overpronator, I've put 300 miles on these shoes to test if they deliver on both comfort and support.

Cushioning Experience

The DNA LOFT v3 cushioning is incredibly soft – some of the most plush foam I've experienced. Yet it doesn't feel mushy or unstable. Long runs feel effortless, with excellent shock absorption on concrete and asphalt.

GuideRails Stability

Unlike traditional medial posts, GuideRails provide holistic support that engages only when needed. The guidance feels natural and unobtrusive. I never felt like I was fighting the shoe, yet my gait felt more efficient.

Durability Assessment

After 300 miles, these shoes still feel nearly new. The midsole shows minimal compression, and the outsole has plenty of life left. This bodes well for getting 400-500 miles from a pair.

Daily Training Versatility

These excel on easy runs and long runs but feel sluggish for tempo work. The 10mm drop and plush cushioning are ideal for recovery days and high-mileage training blocks.

Pros

  • Supremely comfortable cushioning
  • Natural-feeling stability
  • Excellent durability
  • Great for long runs
  • Breathable upper

Cons

  • Heavy for faster workouts
  • Not ideal for speedwork
  • Premium price point
  • May feel too soft for some
